Staff members at Ushuaïa, the renowned superclub in Ibiza, assisted in combating a fire that erupted near the venue earlier this week, as reported by Dario de Ibiza.

Multiple videos surfaced online this week depicting a significant fire blazing on the beachfront in Playa d’en Bossa, right beside Ushuaïa. The fire reportedly ignited just after 2:00 AM on Tuesday, June 10.

According to Dario de Ibiza, the fire “completely destroyed” three establishments in Playa d’en Bossa, including two restaurants and a venue that was set to open this week. The third establishment was a new nightclub.

Fire department sergeant José Antonio López stated that 60 nearby apartments had to be evacuated, confirming that the fire raged for nearly seven hours until around 9:15 AM, when it was fully extinguished.

No casualties were reported, although several individuals received treatment for injuries due to smoke inhalation, and a firefighter sustained a burn wound, according to Noudiari. Ushuaïa was reportedly unaffected by the fire.

Noudiari also noted that Ushuaïa staff played a role in tackling the blaze, and they were later commended by Sant Josep mayor Vicent Roig for their efforts.

Roig expressed gratitude to local police, the Civil Guard, Civil Protection, and emergency services for their collaboration in the evacuation and efforts to extinguish the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. “It’s possible that it started on one of the outdoor terraces of one of the premises; we still do not know which premises or which terrace,” López mentioned.
