Wu-Tang Clan are set to re-enter the world of video games with new co-operative RPG Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver.

Developed by newly-formed studio Brass Lion Entertainment, the game will be a co-operative RPG allowing players to pick one of four characters tasked with defeating the Deceiver — a fictional antagonist plaguing Wu-Tangs in-game home of Shaolin.

According to the games Steam page, players will be able to do this by "harnessing the powers of the Wu-Tang Clan to fight fantastical enemies through the Chambers of a surreal dreamworld" and "protecting Ya Nek" — or, "collecting powerful Jewels to customise your fighting style and iconic fits to show off your drip."

Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver marks the legendary hip hop outfits second foray into the world of video games, following 1999 cult beat-em-up Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style on PlayStation 1.

The teaser trailer for the game was unveiled at last weeks Summer Game Fest, and features a noticeably cartoonish art style which, according to IGN, will blend "Afro-surrealism and anime" within its visuals.

The game will feature a soundtrack comprised of Wu-Tang Clan classics and a score from former Roc-A-Fella producer DJ Just Blaze — with the project having reportedly begun life as a tie-in to Ghostface Killah and RZAs forthcoming movie Angel of Dust.

In a statement, Ghostface Killah said: “Creating Angel of Dust has been an incredible journey. Bringing the story to life through film was just the beginning. Now, with the development of the video game, we are immersing fans even deeper into this supernatural thriller universe.

"It’s about blending music, storytelling, and interactive experience. I can’t wait for fans to step into the darkness and discover what lies beneath," the statement continues.

The release date for Wu-Tang: Rise of the Deceiver has yet to be announced, but will be available via PC on its debut, with console release expected at a later date.
