East London not-for-profit arts venue The Bath House is facing challenges following Hackney Councils decision to end its lease.

Home to various arts initiatives and club nights - including GIANT STEPS, Boboxa, and Club Alegría - this community-run venue was established in 2017 by the collective Stour Space, which transformed the former public swimming bath from a state of disrepair into a vibrant arts hub.

Subsequently, The Bath House came under the management of the non-profit organization Civic State, which implemented numerous arts programs, sauna sessions, and grassroots cultural events within the space.

The Bath House has initiated a petition urging Mayor of Hackney Caroline Woodley and Mayor of London Sadiq Khan to intervene in the councils decision, asserting that Hackney Council has not provided a justification for the lease termination.

"Standing up for The Bath House is standing up for fairness, for transparency, and for a future where people, not just profits, shape our cities and the world we live in," the team behind the venue expressed in the event description.
