Sankeys Hints at Return to Manchester in Cryptic Social Media Post

Sankeys has hinted at a return to Manchester in a cryptic Instagram post.

The team behind the promoter and nightclub brand teased a possible return to the North West with a post on Instagram yesterday, writing: "Hello Manchester... its been a while."

Sankeys has also changed its Instagram bio to: "A Return To Manchester?", and updated the email address connected to the account.

First established by promoters Andy Spiro and Rupert Campbell in 1994, Sankeys ran for more than 20 years inside the former soap factory Beehive Mill in Ancoats, Manchester.

While the brand grew and established clubs in Ibiza and New York, its Manchester home was shuttered in 2017. Since then, Sankeys has remained active as a promoter, most recently hosting a party at Londons Studio338.

It remains unclear what Sankeys comeback in Manchester would look like, though its unlikely that it would return to its old haunt in Ancoats; Beehive Mill was sold to developers not long after the nightclub closed and is now Beehive Lofts, a co-working and meeting space.

Mixmag has contacted representatives for Sankeys for comment.
