Kneecap offer Helen from Wales free tickets after she broadcasts full Glastonbury set on TikTok

A woman from Wales has received complimentary tickets to any of Kneecap’s upcoming performances after she livestreamed the groups Glastonbury performance on TikTok.

Helen Wilson, a vegan café owner from Swansea, started streaming the rap trio’s highly anticipated show on Saturday, June 28, when they took the stage at the festival’s West Holts.

In an interview with the Belfast Telegraph, Wilson expressed that “the BBC got it wrong” by not broadcasting Kneecap’s performance live, and she took it upon herself to stream it.

“I can’t believe the attention this has got, it’s been crazy,” she shared with the Belfast Telegraph. “There were an awful lot of people who wanted to see Kneecap on the Glastonbury stage.”

In response, Kneecap extended an offer to Wilson for free entry to any of their future shows, commenting under the stream: “Helen you’re a legend! Tickets to any show just giz a shout!”

The trio’s Glastonbury performance proceeded as planned over the weekend despite calls from MPs to halt it due to backlash over two resurfaced clips of the band performing in 2023 and 2024 – one reportedly showing group member Mo Chara shouting: “Kill your local MP”.

The other clip allegedly depicted Mo Chara (real name Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh) waving a Hezbollah flag on stage in London, which led to him being charged under the 2000 Terrorism Act – he has since been granted unconditional bail.

Prior to their performance, the BBC announced that it would “not ban” Kneecap from its Glastonbury 2025 broadcast, but instead released an edited version of their set on iPlayer after the show.

After she began streaming the set, Helen Wilson mentioned that she “couldn’t stop” once realizing how many viewers had tuned in, with the stream now having garnered around 2 million interactions.

“I’m a big fan of Kneecap, and obviously I’ve been following what’s been happening with them, and so a few days ago I had the idea to do a live on TikTok,” she explained.

“At the time I was supposed to be working a shift, but luckily my manager allowed my friend and I to go down to the Kneecap set,” she added. “I don’t agree with artists being silenced – when institutions avoid politically outspoken artists, I think that it’s up to us, the fans, to make sure their voices are still heard.”
